High School Football Short Film

Where there's football, there's Wilson. I went out to Lake Forest High School on a Friday night in Illinois to create a piece for Wilson that not only proved that message, but also invoked the nostalgia of attending one's own small town high school football game. I conceptualized, shot and edited this film for the Wilson Brand Instagram channel in one week following the shoot.

Not A Real Sport

“No grit. No drama. No stakes. Pickleball? That’s not a real sport.”

Paddletek’s campaign “Not A Real Sport” sarcastically took aim at the haters, claiming the “pickleball isn’t a real sport” line as its own. The campaign vehemently rejected the statement — while playfully mocking the haters in voiceovers and copy, the visuals, sound effects and music all showed the exact opposite - real grit, real drama, real stakes, real athletes. From each piece of content, the viewer should walk away thinking - “damn, that’s a real sport. Pickleball is more intense than I thought.”

I directed each video in this campaign, which were posted organically on social, used in paid social campaigns, on D2C, email, etc.

Flag Football Paid Ads

I shot and edited these paid social advertisements for the launch of Wilson’s new line of flag footballs, including Wilson’s first ever women’s official sized football.

The main concept behind the product and campaign was speed of play. I therefore shot these with a high shutter speed and used fast paced cuts along with well placed sound design to create energetic pieces that made the play feel intense and fast, so the consumer would subconsciously associate the new line of footballs with energy, excitement, and ultimately speed.

Video was shot at a brand photo/video shoot, with players running drills and posing with my creative direction in order to achieve these results.

I directed, shot and edited these social posts among others to cover the Pickleball US Open for Paddletek. The content included highlights of Paddletek athletes, including Anna Leigh Waters and Kyle Yates, as well as a full recap of the event, which was posted in collaboration with the US Open.

This content quickly became Paddletek’s record in organic views in the 16 years it has been in business.

ProXR ProtoHype Promotion

I directed, shot and edited these videos for ProXR Pickleball as they launched a new pickleball paddle, the ProtoHype. ProXR Athlete, Jack Munro, used this paddle at the US Open Championships, and I used this moment and leveraged Jack to educate the ProXR audience on the benefits of the paddle. Follow up content also showed him actually winning the whole tournament with the paddle, confirming his statement that it “is the best paddle on the market.”

The first ad would have been a great candidate for paid social, but this was released as a limited batch and sold out organically.

NCAA Men’s Big 10 College Basketball

Texas Tech x Wilson Connected

In order to further educate the Wilson Football social audience about Wilson QBX Connected Football Technology, I worked with Texas Tech Quarterback, Behren Morton, who uses the technology weekly to improve his mechanics.

In the first piece, Behren walks the audience through how he and his team use the technology and how it helps him improve. I further utilized two other team members in this video to walk him and the audience through his performance metrics so that the viewers understand exactly what the system measures and how it can be groundbreaking.

I created the second piece to introduce Behren to the Wilson Football social audience to ensure they knew him and had a personal connection to him before consuming the piece about how he uses Wilson QBX Connected Technology.

These will be posted on @wilsonfootball on Instagram and TikTok.

Pickleball x Wes Anderson

One thing I love about tennis is the old school, cinematic, first class lifestyle that the sport seems to portray. This series of content was meant to steal that feeling from tennis and bring it to pickleball, using the Wimbledon “old money” style as inspiration.

I directed each piece in this series, calling for stable tripod shots, clean cuts, and vintage color grades.
