Organized chaos.

After days of witnessing chaos — the storming of rivers, the ruthlessness of predators, the fights of survival — there was something eerie about observing such intentional organization, such obvious structure.

Two lines of wildebeest marching single file across the wide open Serengeti, side by side but slightly offset —

It had me in a trance.

I opted to present this in black and white due to the unexplainable sense of nostalgia this scene gave me — something about it felt like home.

The texture of the grass. The bush climbing the rolling hills. The singular tree, standing isolated in the otherwise vacuous plains, offering its protection for a fleeting moment, shrouding the lines of wildebeest that otherwise stretched as far as the eye can see.

It felt timeless. Linear. Organized.

In a world full of turmoil, it’s patterns like these that ground us. They aren’t colorful or exciting. But they help us find our peace. They can make us feel at home.
